Beautiful Villains
Good evening my lovelies, can you believe it’s Valentine’s Day? Chocolate hearts and flowers, champagne and candles. Yes please, I love romance, it gives you a warm cosy feeling and makes you think of handsome men and beautiful women in stories.
Well tonight my darlings we are going to discuss love and how the Tempus Militibus romance their paramour. So, help yourself to a glass of wine and let’s get comfortable.
The Paris Tempus Militibus and Love
Have you ever wondered how an immortal would romance someone? Imagine how long they have lived and practised the art of seduction and romance. I think a box of chocolates and inside is a handwritten note or poem, something like: ‘Mon cœur, I will live forever, but just one moment with you is all that matters…’
Not that the Tempus Militibus would ever admit to something that they would think is sloppy and from a Valentine card. The jeering that they would receive from one of the others would prevent them from admitting that they are romantic. So, the sentiment of the note that one of them has written and placed in the box of chocolates, is removed along with the heart shaped cherry brandy liqueur, eaten and the note hidden in silver box.
Remy
Yesterday, Remy’s arc was published, and we get to see him, raw, exposed and dangerous.
Remy is stylish, suave and sophisticated. He is a master swordsman, quick, precise. He will ruin you and you will beg for more.
The Discipline of Devotion
Remy can be romantic, he likes to impress his date with dinner, champagne, and yes, he will play Chopin and quote Baudelaire. He brings white flowers. Not red. Rarely roses. That would be too obvious…for him.
His smile disarms and a glance from his baby blue eyes and you know you are ruined, and you’ll thank him for it.
When he fights, his mastery is a dance of wits, his is superior, matched only by skill. Pity the unsuspecting opponent foolish enough to think that he can beat the urbane vampire. They’ve already lost.
His public mask, never removed, always intact. But what about the man behind the mask?
Emile
Our Dom with no safe word. Emile, just like Remy, is French, he is cool as he is charming, He’s the sin you will commit twice.
An encounter with Emile, is a performance of desire, control and a silken surrender, that’s just for starters.
The Theatre of Desire
So, how does a soldier of time, like Emile, show his love for his paramour? Will he quote De Sade to impress you? Is it all show within the theatre of desire? Would he stop the clock just to watch you arrive once more? Or does he remember how you take your champagne, with a strawberry in the glass. Or perhaps he remembers how you looked the first time he saw you, long before you ever saw him.
On the battle front, he does not duel. He stages a finale. Emile is sharp, precise, and unforgiving. His movements are practised by centuries of cruelty with a dance of death before the sword finishes the conversation.
Isaac
Our Spanish obsession. Eyes, dark as night, a smile that disarms. Intellect as sharp as his fangs. He quotes Garcia Lorca in a seductive accent. But it’s not his sword that you fear, it’s his voice. A voice like velvet, until he sings. Then you see your life play before your eyes. You know Isaac is finished when you hear: ‘Sunny side of the street…’
The Quiet That Burns
Imagine blue skies, a sun that sears the earth, the sound of waves in the distance. A man walks toward you; he is tall, beautiful statuesque and a voice so smooth. You hear the words “Love is the kiss in the quiet nest while the leaves are trembling, mirrored in the water…” The romantic words belong to Garcia Lorca, and spoken by Isaac, and you know instantly that you will burn for this man standing above you now. There is no escaping, your heart, your mind, your body trembles under his beauty, his voice, and his charisma.
A night with Isaac is special, this vampire will romance you, he would gift you his heart, if he had one. He would protect you, but he swears it is only indifference.
Why the denial? Perhaps that glance, momentarily from Emile is all it takes to expose his longing for his paramour, or is it something else?
Karl
Our handsome Capitaine, sophisticated, charming, and lethal. If charm is seduction, he’s guilty as charged.
A date with Karl, would devastate in all the right ways. He would wine and dine you, but he would never say ‘I love you’.
He carries the guilt of something that happened and a romance that cut him to the quick. Karl has a long memory and he never forgets.
The Weight of Command
As the commander of the Tempus Militibus Lutetiae Division, he stands between danger and his men before the threat has even named itself. Karl is the architect of order. The men trust him, but they test his patience. Emile’s casual nature, Remy’s romances, and Isaac’s singing.
So, my darlings, would you survive not falling in love with the Paris Tempus Militibus?
Who could resist?
They do not fall in love. They curate it.
Hearts are not broken. They are archived.
The candles are still burning.
One of the Militibus is waiting…
